The Misericordia University golf team is in sixth place after the first day of the Freedom Conference golf championships at Blue Ridge Country Club in Harrisburg.

Bucky Aeppli led the Cougars with an 80 (+8) and is tied for fifth while Bryan Marzolino and Andy Smith are both tied for 20th with 13-over 85.

Ryan Wesley rounded out MU's top four with a 90 and is tied for 34th.

The Cougars have team total of 340 heading into the final round which tees off Monday at 8:30.
