Brandon Calafut (Carbondale, PA/Lakeland) has been named the Wendy's Misericordia University Male Athletes of the Month for April while
Katie Eiden (Scranton, PA/Scranton) and
Nicole DeAngelis (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park Memorial) shared the women's honor.
Calafut, a senior first baseman, hit .434 with 28 RBI and 51 total bases during the month. He had 10 doubles, one triple and two homers while compiling a .671 slugging percentage.
He set school single-season records for doubles (21) and RBI (47).
Eiden, a junior pitcher on the softball team, was 8-1 with a 1.5 earned run average. She had four shutouts and 66 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .182 batting average.
DeAngelis, a sophomore, led the women's lacrosse team in scoring with 43 points on 40 goals and three assists, including a 12-point (10g, 2a) performance in a win over King's.
