The Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation announced its all-conference teams Thursday, and Mike Murphy and Nate Newman were first team All-Freedom selections.
Murphy, a graduating senior, started all 40 games for the Cougars this season. He batted .436 and set team single season records in runs (60), hits (71) and triples (7). He finished with a walk-to-strikeout ratio of 32/8.
Murphy was a first-team All-PAC selection last season and was named to the ABCA/Rawlings Mid-Atlantic All-Region third team.
Newman, a sophomore, hit .414 with 67 hits and 45 runs scored. He matched a team single season record with nine homeruns and set records in RBIs (47) and total bases (110).
Murphy was named team MVP, and Newman took home the Coach's Award at this year's spring athletics banquet.
