The Misericordia University women's basketball team won its third straight game, 59-55 in overtime, Monday at SUNY-Cobleskill.
Christine Marks had game-highs with 23 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Cougars.
Jesse Robinson had 11 points and six rebounds and
Tyann McDaniel added 10 points and five assists for MU.
Robinson broke a 55-55 tie with a jumper to give MU the lead with 1:26 to play and McDaniel and Marks both added a free throw in the final minute.
Tied at 51-51 through regulation, the Tigers grabbed a quick 53-51 on the first possession of overtime.
Marks made back-to-back jump shots to give MU a 55-51 lead before Cobleskill tallied four straight points to set the stage for Robinson.
The Cougars grabbed a quick 7-0 lead on a three-pointer by McDaniel and jumpers by
Vanessa Wright and Marks.
After Cobleskill scored the next seven points to tie the score, the Cougars used an 11-2 run to build an 18-9 lead midway through the first half.
Marks made two straight jumpers before Robinson fed
Bernadette Guy for layup and McDaniel drained another three-pointer.
The Tigers got within two before Robinson converted a three-point play for a 21-16 lead with 4:06 to play.
Kayla Sileo's three-pointer gave MU a 24-16 lead with 3:20 to go, but Cobleskill rallied, including a three-pointer at the buzzer, to get within 27-25 at halftime.
The teams traded baskets throughout the second half wiht Cobleskill eventually taking a 43-39 lead with 7:41 remaining.
Caitlin Sweeney and McDaniel both drilled three-pointers to forge a 47-47 tie with 5:00 left.
Marks gave MU the lead with a pair of free throws at 1:58, but the Tigers tied it 20 seconds later.
Robinson put MU in front, 51-49, with 1:16 to go and Cobleskill forced OT with a bucket with 24 seconds to go.
MU improved to 12-9 overall and will visit DeSales for a key Freedom Conference contest, Wednesday at 6:00.
