Dani Blass won three individual events and helped the Cougars to one of two relay wins as the Misericordia University women's swimming team earned a tough 142-120 victory over Montclair State University on Saturday afternoon at the Anderson Center Pool.
Blass swept the breaststroke events, winning the 100 in 1:10.55 and the 200 in 2:34.62. She also earned an important victory in the 200 IM- the next to last event of the day- finishing in 2:19.40 to just out-touch Montclair State's Christine Werner and earn the nine points.
Bree Grzech, Blass, Brittany Luzik, and Aryn Zimmerman opened the meet with an MU victory in the 200 Medley Relay (1:55.54) while Dana Hallam, Luzik, Katherine Strahosky and Grzech teamed up to seal the victory with a win in the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:50.18).
Hallam, Grzech and Luzik each earned individual victories for the Cougars as well. Hallam Edged out the Red Hawks' Syddney Stein to win the 200 Free while Grzech won the 200 Back (2:18.99) and Luzik won the 100 Fly (1:04.10).
The Cougars will next compete on January 9, traveling to Lebanon Valley for a 6:00 PM meet.
