The Misericordia University men's and women's teams are both in third place after the first day of the Longnecker Invitational, Friday at Grove City College.

Greg Vossler had the top individual finish for the Cougars with a seventh place showing in the 50 freestyle and two relay teams set school records.

Robbie Jacobs, Mike Dougherty, Jeff Clark and Vossler set a school record while finishing fourth in the 200 free relay (1:30.17).

Mitch Finch, Jeff Clark, Jacobs and Vossler set a school record on the way to a fourth place finish in the 400 medley relay (3:40.59).

The event will conclude with two sessions, Saturday.
