The Misericordia University men's and women's teams are both in third place after the first day of the Longnecker Invitational, Friday at Grove City College.

Jessica Grant led the women's team with a third place finish in the 500 free (5:32.73) after entering the meet as the eighth seed.

Alaina Trent, Amanda McHugh, Michelle Lacroce and Abby Kocon were third in the 400 medley relay.

Trent (2:19.51) and Lacroce (2:22.22) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200 IM and Kocon was fourth in the 50 free (25.7)

The event will conclude with two sessions, Saturday.
