Five members of Misericordia University’s Pennsylvania Athletic Conference runner-up softball team have been named to the All-PAC team.
Sophomore pitcher
Kat Lucenti (Montrose, PA/Elk Lake) and sophomore outfielder
Gina Urbon (Hanover Township, PA/Hanover) were first-team selections.
Sophomore outfielder
Courtney Novajosky (Noxen, PA/Tunkhannock) was a second-team selection in the outfield and freshman third baseman
Hollie Sarnak (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke) was a second-team infielder.
Senior first baseman
Kristen Norris (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Pope John XXIII) earned honorable mention for the second straight season.
Lucenti is 17-3 with a 1.90 earned run average. She has three shutouts and has limited opponents to a .223 batting average in 130 innings.
Urbon was third on the team in batting (.361) and on-base percentage (.415). She added five doubles, two homers and 19 RBI. She was a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen bases.
Novajosky hit .321 from the lead-off spot in the batting order and was second on the team with 38 runs scored. She tied for the team lead with eight stolen bases and was fourth in hits (43).
Sarnak led the team in batting (.431), slugging percentage (.759), hits (59), runs (46), RBI (44) and homers (10).
Norris was second on the team in batting (.398), slugging percentage (.626), on-base percentage (.457) and hits (49) and tied for the team lead in doubles (13).
Misericordia, 32-12, is the top seed in the ECAC South Region championships and will play Swarthmore, Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Washington & Jefferson College.
