The Misericordia University women's basketball team suffered a 41-35 loss to SUNY-Cobleskill in a Thursday night match-up at the Anderson Center. The game, originally scheduled for Wednesday, was held over due to inclement weather.
Jesse Robinson and Lacey DeGraw led the Cougars' attack with nine points each. Christine Marks followed with eight.
DeGraw led the defense with seven rebounds. Vanessa Wright added six, and Lindsey Sykes and Christine Marks grabbed five each.
The Cougars led by as much as five points in the first half, but gave way to the Fighting Tigers with 1:26 to play. Robinson scored seven of her nine points before the break. The team trailed 23-19.
DeGraw led the offense in the second half with six points, but the team failed to put together a substantial run. The Cougars lost by six but were down by as much as 12 in the half.
The Cougars (8-9, 4-5) host Alvernia Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The game is being played as part of the American Cancer Society's Coaches vs. Cancer program. All admission proceeds will benefit the ACS.
