Vanessa Wright scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Misericordia University women's basketball team to a 76-54 win at Saint Mary's College of Maryland in the Cougars opening game of the second semester, Monday.
Wright made seven of 10 shots from the floor to lead four players in double figures and
Jesse Robinson recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Lacey DeGraw and
Christine Marks added 16 and 13 points, respectively, and
Lindsey Sykes had seven assists.
Leading 37-32 at halftime, MU held St. Mary's to just 22 second-half points on 26.7% shooting.
The Cougars put the game away with a 13-0 run to take a 54-37 lead with 14:17 remaining.
Misericordia, 3-4, will return to Freedom Conference action when they visit Alvernia, Wednesday.
