More than 250 people visited the Anderson Center to have their picture taken with the 2009 World Series trophy, Saturday.
Alfred Santasiere III, Misericordia alumnus and co-author of Yankee Stadium: The Final Season, The Official Retrospective, held a book signing in conjunction with the trophy visit.
Yankee Stadium: The Final Season, The Official Retrospective, recounts the events that took place at Yankee Stadium in 2008.
This coffee-table book offers readers unmatched access to the final Opening Day at Yankee Stadium, Pope Benedict XVI's historic Mass, the 2008 MLB All-Star Game and the final game ever played in Yankee Stadium.
In addition, Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter weigh in on the historical significance of the big ballpark in the Bronx.
Santasiere, 30, is the director of publications for the New York Yankees and serves as the editor-in-chief of Yankees Magazine and the New York Yankees annual yearbook.
Prior to joining the Yankees front office in 2003, Santasiere earned a master’s degree in sports administration from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida, and worked in the media relations departments of the Baltimore Orioles and Miami Dolphins.
