The Misericordia University women's swim team will compete at the MAC Championships, Friday-Sunday at the Wilkes-Barre CYC.
The Cougars expect to battle for the team title after finishing second in their first MAC appearance a year ago.
Junior
Alaina Trent leads with top seeds in the 200 IM and 200 backstroke.
Alicia Bryk is the top seed in the 50 free while
Abby Kocon is third.
Kocon is seeded fourth in the 200 free where she is joined by three teammates,
Chelsea Mixon, Trent and
Jessica Grant, in the top nine.
Kocon is fourth in the 100 free and is joined by Mixon, Bryk,
Erin Schneck and
Dani Basile in the top 16.
Michelle Lacroce and
Crissy Condus are seeded third and fourth, respectively in the 100 butterfly and Trent is third in the 100 backstroke.
MU has six swimmers in the top 16 in the 100 breaststroke, including third-seeded
Amanda McHugh.
Jessie Williamson and Condus are seeded third in the 200 breaststroke and 200 butterfly, respectively.
The Cougars are seeded first or second in all five relay events including the top seeds in the 400 medley and 800 free.
Action gets underway Friday at noon.
