Misericordia University softball standout Katie Eiden (Scranton, PA/Scranton) has been named the Freedom Conference Pitcher of the Week.

A junior pitcher, Eiden was 2-0 with a 0.00 earned run average while helping the Cougars secure the top seed in the upcoming Freedom Conference playoffs.

She tossed a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts in a win at Manhattanville and added 10 strikeouts in a three-hitter against Arcadia.

She held opposing batters to a .122 batting average and allowed just one unearned run in 14 innings.

Misericordia is 24-12 and will host the King's/Wilkes winner in the first round of the Freedom Championships, Friday at 11:00 a.m.
