Misericordia University's
Jeff Clark won the 100 breaststroke and added a relay win at the MAC swim championships, Saturday at the CYC.
Clark teamed with
Adam Grzech, Eric Schollmeyer and
Greg Vossler to win the 200 medley relay with a school record (1:35.67).
The defending MAC champion Misericordia University women's swim team is just one point out of first place heading into the final day of competition.
Jess Grant, Abby Kocon, Crissy Condus and
Chelsea Mixon won the 800 free relay with a school record (8:08.83) as the Cougars ended the second day with 419 points, one behind Lycoming.
Mixon, Grant and
Kiana Ramirez finished second, third and fourth, respectively, in the 200 freestyle.
After tying the pool record during the preliminaries,
Alicia Bryk finished second in the 100 breaststroke.
Katlyn Nelson was fifth while
Aubree Petrone and
Julianne Barrington were 11th and 14th.
During the preliminaries, Clark set a new CYC pool record and lowered his own school record and NCAA B qualifying time in the 100 breaststroke (57.06).
Grzech and
Matt Moates were third and fifth in the 100 back while
Eric Thomas was eighth.
Vince Paone, Brendan Dougherty, Mike Dougherty and
Nick Cannizzaro were fourth in the 800 free relay with a school record (7:27.12).
Schollmeyer and Moates finished fifth and eighth, respectively, in the 100 butterfly while
Eric Thomas and
Kyle Geier were ninth and 14th.
Brendan Dougherty was eighth in the 400 IM and
Mike Labagh was ninth in the 100 breaststroke.
The 200 medley relay team of Kocon,
Katlyn Nelson,
Michelle Lacroce and Bryk finished fourth.
Condus was fifth in the 400 IM and Lacroce and
Brianna Hiltey were fifth and seventh, respectively, in the 100 butterfly.
Megan McChesney was sixth in the 100 back.
The men's team is third in the team standings with 390.5 points heading into the final day of action. Preliminaries begin Sunday at 10:00 a.m. with finals set for 5:00 p.m.
Saturday's Preliminaries
Jeff Clark set a new MAC record and
Alicia Bryk set a new pool record to lead the Misericordia University swim teams in Saturday's preliminary round of the MAC Championships.
In addition to a MAC record, Clark's 100 breaststroke time (57.06) set a new CYC pool record and lowered his own school record and NCAA B qualifying time.
Bryk (1:07.28) in the 100 breaststroke was a new CYC pool and school mark and is an NCAA B qualifier.
Katlyn Nelson was fifth in prelims and will join Bryk in the finals while
Aubree Petrone and
Juliann Barrington both qualified for the consolation finals.
For the men,
Mike Labagh, Dan Zuckerman and
Nicholas Ametrano reached the consolation final in the 100 breaststroke.
Adam Grzech (54.51) was the top qualifier in the 100 back while
Matt Moates and
Eric Thomas were third and seventh, respectively.
Mike Dougherty and
Greg Vossler reached the B finals.
Jess Grant, Kiana Ramirez and
Chelsea Mixon were second, third and fourth in the 200 freestyle prelims while
Crissy Condus was fourth in the 400 IM.
Eric Schollmeyer and Moates were fourth and seventh, respectively, in the 100 butterfly and
Brendan Dougherty was sixth in the 400 IM.
Michelle Lacroce and
Brianna Hiltey were sixth and eighth in the 100 fly while
Laura Rinehimer, Lindsey Young and
Aubree Petrone qualified for the B final.
Megan McChesney was seventh in the 100 back and
Vince Paone was eighth in the 200 free.
