Three Misericordia University athletics standouts have been named the Player of the Week in their respective sports by the MAC and Freedom Conferences.
Adam Grzech (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) was named men's swimmer of the week while
Mike Eckman (Shavertown, PA/Lake-Lehman) was selected in men's indoor track & field.
Christine Marks (Milford, PA/Delaware Valley) was named the Freedom women's basketball player of the week.
Grzech, a junior, scored a team-high 97 points to lead the Cougars to the championship at the Grove City Winter Classic.
He won the 50 free and 100 back) and was part of four relay wins.
Eckman had four top-five finishes in his first collegiate track meet.
He set a school record 7.24 while finishing fifth at 60m and had the second-fastest time in school history (23.52) to finish fourth at 200m. He anchored the 4x400m relay that finished second and was part of the fourth-place 4x200m relay.
Marks, a senior forward, averaged 26 points and 17 rebounds in a 2-0 Freedom week.
She had 28 points and 15 rebounds in a win at Wilkes where she was 14-14 from the foul line. She shot 69.2% from the floor (9-13) with 24 points and 19 rebounds against Manhattanville.
