Misericordia University's Frankie Redmond finished third in his heat of the 800m preliminaries at the NCAA Track & Field Championships and missed qualifying for the finals by less than .2 seconds.

A senior returning All-American, Redmond ran the second-fastest time in school history (1:51.66), Friday night at Ohio Wesleyan University.

The eighth and final qualifier ran 1:51.40.
