Misericordia University women's soccer standouts Sam Helmstetter (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan), Erin Roberts (Perkiomenville, PA/Boyertown) and Kate Usher (Turnersville, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) players have been named to the ECAC Division III South All Star team.

Helmstetter, a junior, was named at forward while Roberts and Usher was chosen at midfield and back, respectively.

The Freedom Conference Player of the Year, Helmstetter tied for the Misericordia scoring lead with 10goals and 11 assists.

Her 31 points are the ninth-highest single-season total in school history and her 11 assists is third all-time.

She moved into MU's top-10 in career points (77), goals (26) and assists (25). She scored in eight different matches, including two multi-goal games, and had three game-winning goals.

Roberts, a freshman, was the Freedom Conference Rookie of the Year and had one goal and three assists.

As a holding midfielder, she kept the Cougars organized on defense and served as the catalyst to their counter-attack. Despite being the smallest player on the field, she was always in the correct position and used her outstanding work rate to her advantage.

Usher, the team's lone senior, is a three-year starter at back.  She had a pair of assists while anchoring a defense that allowed less than a goal per game during the regular season.

The Cougars 14-5-2, including their first-ever NCAA Championships victory.
