The Misericordia women's swim team finished the first day of MAC's in record-breaking fashion, Friday at the Wilkes-Barre CYC.
The 200 Free Relay of
Bree Grzech,
Brittany Luzik,
Aryn Zimmerman and
Chelsea Mixon won for the sixth-straight year in a time of 1:39.42.
In the 200 IM Luzik finished sixth in a time of 2:15.86 while sophomore
Beth Karmondy placed seventh in 2:17.09.
The Cougars placed three in the top-eight in the 50 Free. Mixon was second with a time of 24.64 while Grzech placed fourth with a time of 25.23 and Zimmerman finished seventh in a time of 25.70.
The 400 Medley Relay of Grzech,
Amanda Stammherr, Luzik and Mixon set a new school record with a time of 4:00.84. Coming into the final freestyle leg the Cougars were behind by a body length, but Mixon swam a 53.68 100 Free to give the Cougars a come-from-behind win.

The Cougars scored 183.5 points in the first day, putting them in second, 4.5 points behind Weidner.
The meet resumes with preliminaries at 9:00 am and finals to follow at 5:00, Saturday.
