The Misericordia track and field teams will open the post-season with the MAC Championships, Thursday through Saturday at Elizabethtown.
Jill Dunn and
Ashlee Ward lead the women while
Aidan Marich and
Mike Eckman are top performers for the men.
Dunn is among the MAC elite in all her events and will look to return to All-MAC status. She has run a time of 1:05.36 in the 400m hurdles and a distance of 11.17m in the triple jump. She has a long jump distance of 5.41m and has a time of 16.05 in the 100m hurdles.
Ward shines in the field events where she will look to defend her titles in the high jump and the discus. She has the longest throw in the MAC in the discus (39.12m) and has a mark of 1.67m in the high jump.
Stacey Perrins has had a good season on the track with a time of 26.14 in the 200m while
Kelsey Cameron is having the same success in the distance events with a time of 2:17.23 in the 800m and a 4:50.76 in the 1500m.
For the relays, the 4x100m relay comprised of Dunn,
Stephanie Grow,
Jen Lozier and Perrins has gone 49.23 and the 4x400 relay of Cameron,
Bridget Comiskey,
Stephanie Grow and Dunn has run a MAC best, 3:59.49.
For the men, Eckman has run an 11.31 in the 100m while Marich is just .01 behind him (11.32). Marich has also run a 22.89 in the 200m.
In the field events,
Sean Vitale and
Joe Ardo will look to defend their All-MAC status in the triple jump (12.20m) and shot put (14.17m), respectively.
Steve Clemson has a jump of 6.42m in the long jump, and
Angel Guzman has thrown the discus, a school-record, 40.93m.
In the 4x800 relay
John Gibbons,
Jarrett Higley, Marich and Vitale look to find the podium with a 7:58.15, and the 4x100 relay of Clemson, Eckman, Marich and Vitale will look to improve on a 44.01.
The meet will begin on Thursday and will run to Saturday, at Elizabethtown.
