Misericordia University men's basketball standout Jason Kenny (Dickson City, PA/Mid Valley) has been named the MAC Freedom Player of the Week.

A first-year guard, Kenny averaged 27.5 points per game to lead the Cougars to a pair of non-conference wins over Utica and Montclair State.

He had 24 points on 10-21 shooting, three assists and three steals in an 81-69 over Utica.

Kenny followed that up with 31 points, including 9-9 from the foul line, and had three more assists and three more steals in an 82-67 win at Montclair.

Misericordia, 6-5, is off until a January 2 at Franklin & Marshall.

Kenny leads the team in scoring with 17.3 ppg and three-point shooting (43.8%).
