Lindsay Freitag has been named head softball coach and coordinator of athletics operations at Misericordia University, Director of Athletics
Chuck Edkins has announced.

Lindsay Freitag join the athletics staff at Misericordia," said Edkins. "She brings a tremendous passion for the game of softball and intercollegiate athletics.  Her past experiences are an indicator of her enthusiasm for the lifestyle that is warranted at the collegiate level. She possesses a strong desire to work with our student athletes. We are confident that Lindsay will be able to enhance the success and tradition of our softball program." Â
Freitag spent last season as the head coach at Pitt-Greensburg where she led the Bobcats to an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference playoff berth. She previously coached at Towson State, Bucknell and Frostburg State.

Chuck Edkins and the members of the search committee for giving me this amazing opportunity," said Freitag. "I am thrilled to coach at such a great university and work in an athletic department that has a clear vision. It is our goal to compete for a championship and the pieces are in place to make that happen."
A native of Baltimore, MD, Freitag earned her bachelor's degree in health and physical education and master's in administration and supervision from Frostburg State.
Freitag was a four-year letter-winner at Frostburg and helped the Bobcats to the AMCC championship and an NCAA Tournament berth as a senior.
She was an All-AMCC selection and team captain as a senior.
