The Misericordia University women's tennis team advanced to the MAC Freedom championship match with a thrilling 5-4 win over Eastern, Tuesday night at the Kingston Indoor Tennis Club.
Gabby Belles recorded a come-from-behind three-set victory at second singles to clinch the match while
Linsey Parks and
Amberlynn Habich also twice for the Cougars.
After dropping the first set, 6-6 (4-7), Belles rallied to win the next two sets, 6-4, 6-1.
Parks won 6-0, 6-1 at fourth singles and Habich won 6-1, 6-1 at number six. Parks and Habich teamed for an 8-4 win at third doubles.
Carly Young and Nellie Chmil teamed for a 9-7 win at first doubles.
Misericordia will face the Wilkes/King's winner for the MAC Freedom title, Saturday.
