Sam Helmstetter added a pair of assists to lead the Misericordia University women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Lebanon Valley, Monday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
Jess Anderson made nine saves in goal for the Cougars who improved to 4-3-1.
In a match that featured physical play throughout, McGreal put the Cougars ahead 1-0 at 10:55 with an assist from Helmstetter.
Nearly 20 minutes later, Helmstetter settled a corner kick at the top of the box and played a ball to Mocion who beat the LVC keeper for a 2-0 lead at 29:05.
Anderson made a big save just three minutes later and the Dutchmen's rebound attempt sailed over the crossbar.
After cutting the Misericordia lead to 2-1 at 60:32, Lebanon Valley's Nicole Snyder took a cross from Taylor Saraiva, but MU's
Bridget Fortier and Nikki Ruffler thwarted the attempt.
Lebanon Valley's last scoring chance came on a late corner, but
Laura Roney cleared the ball out of defensive end.
MU will play again Wednesday at Elizabethtown.
