Cougars Come Up Short at Scranton

The Misericordia University men's swim team fell to Scranton, 173-89, in a meet, Saturday.

Adam Grzech captured the only win for the Cougars, winning the 100 freestyle in a time of 49.56.  He also finished second in the 50 free (22.30), .04 seconds behind the leader.

Other highlights for the Cougars came in the 400 medley relay where the team of Grzech, Doug Ranson, Brad Thomas and Peter Kolokithias placed second, two seconds behind the winning team.  Kolokithias later came in second in the 200 free (1:50.97), missing out on top honors by less than a second. 

Other runner-up finishes came from Ben Annibali in the 100 back (57.83) and the200 individual medley (2:11.56), Ranson in the 100 breast (1:02.62) and the 200 breast (2:20.63), Thomas Machi in the 200 fly (2:10.23) and the team of Grzech, Matt Moates, Eric Schollmeyer and Thomas in the 200 free relay (1:29.04).

Misericordia will travel to Messiah, Friday.
