The Misericordia University women's basketball team fell, 63-47, to Marywood University on Saturday afternoon in the Anderson Center.

Justine Seely led the Cougars with her second consecutive double-double, posting 14 points and 13 rebounds while Lauren Smicherko added 12 points. Shannon Croasdale and Shelby Brochetti both finished with eight points in the loss. 

The Cougars held the early advantage, getting out to a seven-point lead, following a 9-2 run midway through the first half. Seely started the run with a layup off of a bounce pass from Nikki Baro. Smicherko, Seely and Brochetti each had buckets during the run and Shannon Croasdale capped the run with a long range jumper at the 7:52 mark. 

The Pacers answered with a 7-0 run of their own to tie the game at 17-17 at the 5:37 mark. Brochetti recaptured the lead for the Cougars with a jumper in the lane. However, the Pacers got the final two buckets of the half to take a 23-21 lead into the locker room. 

The Pacers never gave the lead back, outscoring the Cougars 40-26 in the second half to capture the victory. 

Danielle Terranella led the Pacers with 23 points and four rebounds while Maggie Presnal added 12 points and 12 boards in the victory.

With the loss, the Cougars fall to 0-10, while the Pacers improve to 4-4.

MU is back in action, December 29, as they open the Catholic Tournament against Mary Washington at 3:00 in Washington, DC.
