Lindsay Hischak had a goal and an assist to lead the Misericordia University field hockey team to a 2-1 win at Eastern in a MAC Freedom semifinal, Wednesday afternoon.
Jennifer O'Neill added a goal and
Angela Pasquini made 11 saves as the Cougars advanced to the MAC Freedom title game for the third consecutive season.
The Cougars will play the winner of the Wilkes/FDU-Florham game for the MAC Freedom title, Saturday.
O'Neill gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead when she finished a cross from Hischak just 3:47 into the game.
Eastern tied it at 10:13 off a corner when an EU shot deflected an MU defender's stick.
Just seconds after an Eastern penalty stroke was wide left, Hischak dribbled the length of the field and tallied an unassisted goal to put MU back in front at 20:34.
Pasquini sandwiched two of her second-half saves around a defensive save by Sam Partington as the Eagles had three shots in a two-minute span late in the second half.
The MU defense didn't allow a shot over the final 10 minutes.
