The Misericordia University field hockey team will make its third consecutive appearance in the MAC Freedom championship game when they travel to FDU-Florham, Saturday at 1:00.

Misericordia, the third seed, defeated Eastern, 2-1, to advance to the championship game. Top seeded FDU-Florham defeated Wilkes, 4-1. Â Â The winner of Saturday's game gets an automatic berth in the NCAA Championships.

This game is a rematch of last year's championship game which FDU-Florham won 2-1. The Cougars lost this year's regular season meeting, 4-2, in their MAC Freedom home opener.

The Cougars are led by a quartet of All-MAC Freedom players, including two-time first-team selections forward
Lindsay Hischak and midfielder
Colby Eldridge.

Defender
Samantha Partington was named to the second-team with goalkeeper
Angela Pasquini who was last year's Defensive Player of the Year.

Hischak (14g, 9a),
Jennifer O'Neill (9g, 3a) and
Kailey Vogl (8g, 5a) spearheaded a Cougar attack that averaged 2.15 goals per game this season.

Partington and Pasquini were part of a defense that allowed 1.90 goals per game.

FDU-Florham features the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Year forward Kim Davis, Rookie of the Year defender Makayla Park and Coach of the Year Jenn Noon, a Dallas High School graduate.

Davis led the conference in goals scored with 19.

First-team selections Davis (19g, 7a), Stephanie Geskes (3g, 6a) and Alicia Grotyohann (6g, 3a) lead the Devils attack that scored 2.45 goals per game.

Honorable mention goalie Amy Defnet had a 13-6 record with a 1.44 goals against average, which was the lowest in the conference.
