The Misericordia University women's soccer team clinched a post-season berth with a 4-0 win over Delaware Valley, Friday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Seniors Jordyn Powell and Alex Gallagher both scored goals on Senior Appreciation Day along with Devyn Anderson and Ashley Edgell.
Hannah Larkin added two assists.

Alexis Benedetto made two saves in relief of senior Alyssa Pojero.

Anderson gave the Cougars an early lead when she charged down the middle to win a loose ball in the box and place a shot into the upper left corner at 13:40.

Stevens juked a defender inside the box, but her left-footed strike was just over the bar at 20:44.

Gallagher carried deep into the right side of the box and her tough-angle shot rolled just wide of the far post at 30:24.

Stevens had a one-on-one less than two minutes later, but the Aggies keeper came off her line to deflect the shot.

The Cougars finally got an insurance goal at 38:01 when Larkin grounded a pass to the left flank and Powell slotted a shot inside the left post for a 2-0 lead.

Shestan Lynam had a point-blank shot with less a minute remaining in the first half, but DVU's Madeline Medina was in position to make the save.

Gallagher made it 3-0 at 51:45 when she took a feed from Larkin and grounded a shot across the box that caromed off the right post.

Edgell closed out the scoring when she gathered a loose ball off a deflection and buried a shot into the upper right corner for a 4-0 lead at 66:45

MU finished 12-4-2 overall and 5-2 in the MAC Freedom and will open the MAC Freedom tournament, Tuesday.
