The Misericordia field hockey team fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, 2-0, to #10 Franklin & Marshall. The loss snapped a nine-game winning for the Cougars who finished 12-9.
Katleyn Campbell made 10 saves in goal to keep the Cougars in the game.

Kortney McEwen came up huge throughout the first half to keep the Diplomats off the board.
F & M scored twice over the final 19 minutes to advance to the Sweet 16.
The Diplomats and their high-scoring offense had 20 shots and earned 10 penalty corners.
The first half was all defense as Misericordia held F & M to just four shots, including one on goal, in the first 35 minutes.
F&M had two corners in the half, including one as time ran out, but the Cougars were able to survive the scoring chance and headed into the locker room scoreless.
In the second half, the Diplomats came out on the attack with two early shots, but Campbell made both stops to keep the game scoreless.
Campbell and the Cougars defense thwarted four penalty corners in a one minute span just eight minutes into the second half.
F & M broke through with a penalty stroke with just over 18 minutes remaining and added an insurance goal with four minutes to go.
