The Misericordia University softball season came to an end with a 9-0 loss to Manhattanville in the MAC Freedom Championships, Sunday at Delaware Valley.
Brooke Moyle had a double for the Cougars and Jess Pluta and
Caitlin Kennedy both had hits.
Manhattanville broke a scoreless tie with seven runs in the bottom of the third and added two more in the fourth.
Misericordia got its lead-off batter on base in each of the first three innings, but was unable to push a run across.
Quintanilla drew a walk to lead off the game, but the next three batters went down in order.
Moyle led off the second with a double to left and went to third on Kennedy's single up the middle. Three straight infield outs ended the threat.
Quintanilla was hit by a pitch to start the third and advanced to second on Pluta's one-out single up the middle. Moyle drew a two-out walk to load the bases, but the Valiants escaped the jam with a ground out.
The Cougars went down in order in the fourth and fifth innings to end the game.
MU finished 21-22.
