Box Score Alex Gallagher scored near the end of the first overtime period to give the Misericordia University women's soccer team a 2-1 over Virginia Wesleyan, Tuesday evening in Frederica, DE.
 
Devyn Anderson flicked a punt to Gallagher who headed home the game-winning goal.
 
Hannah Larkin scored unassisted early in the second half to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.
 
Alyssa Pojero made seven saves in goal for the Cougars.
 
Larkin fired a shot from 25 yards into the right side netting in the 55^th minute.
 
The Marlins tied it 20 minutes later on a loose a ball in front with Anna Pedicone finishing a pass from Sarah Heinbaugh.
 
Alicia Zamora had 11 saves for Virginia Wesleyan.
 
Misericordia held a 22-11 edge in shots, including 13-8 on goal, and had five corners while allowing four.
 
Misericordia is 6-2-2 and will open MAC Freedom play at King's, Saturday.
