Granoski's Hat Trick Lifts Cougars in Season Finale Victory over Marywood

Madisyn Granoski recorded a hat trick as the Misericordia University field hockey team defeated Marywood, 3-1, in its season finale, Saturday in Scranton, PA.

The Cougars got off to a hot start against the Pacers with three goals in the first 15 minutes, all of which were generated off penalty corners.

Granoski got the scoring started in the sixth minute. Following her own penalty corner, Granoski connected on a Kayla Pogash ball that was delivered 20-yards out from the right perimeter.

Moments later, Granoski recorded her second tally in the 10th minute after chipping in a cross from Pogash, who recorded her team-leading fifth assist.

Later in the first half, the sophomore forward took advantage of a Kailey Vogl penalty corner for her second score of the game. After receiving Vogl's corner, Granoski blasted a shot from the top of the circle to give the Cougars a 3-0 lead in the 15th minute. It was her fifth goal in the last two contests as she ends the season as the squad's leader in goals scored (9) and total points (19).

Katelyn Campbell made five saves for the Cougars, including two in the second minute, which staved off an early Marywood threat.

Misericordia ends the season on a three-game winning streak while improving to 5-12 on the season.
