The Misericordia University men's volleyball team picked up its second MAC win of the season with a 3-1 victory at Widener, Saturday.

The Cougars won 25-15, 25-18, 22-25, 25-22 to improve to 12-14 overall and 2-8 in the MAC.

Ryan Miller led MU with 19 kills and five aces while Caleb Bauder had 13 kills, three blocks and 12 digs.

Matt Lavin had six blocks and three aces.

Bailey Brugler had 37 assists, three blocks and four kills and John Natiello had four aces.

Michael Trygar and Bauder combined for three kills to give MU a 9-5 lead in the opening set.

Bauder had two kills as part of another 3-0 run as the Cougars stretched the lead to 14-9.

Natiello had three aces to give Misericordia a 21-14 advantage and the Cougars closed the set on a 4-0 run.

The Cougars trailed early in the second set, but scored three straight points to take its first lead, 12-11.

An ace by Lavin and kills by Bauder and Miller keyed a 5-0 run as the Cougars took a 17-12 lead.

Miller's ace and an ace by Natiello gave the Cougars a 24-16 lead.

In the third set, Miller had three straight aces as part of a 5-0 run to give MU an 8-5 lead.

The teams traded points throughout the second half of the set and were tied, 21-21, before the Pride closed the set on a 4-1 spurt for a 25-22 win.

MU broke a 15-15 tie with four straight points on two kills by Miller and two aces by Lavin.

Two kills each by Bauder and Miller gave the Cougars a 24-18 lead and MU held off a late Widener rally for a 25-22 win.

MU will host Wilkes, Tuesday.
