The Misericordia University women's soccer team advanced to the MAC Freedom championship game with a 4-0 win over DeSales, Tuesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Devyn Anderson scored twice and Jeanna Orfanos added a goal and an assist.  Michaela Fasolino had a goal and Emma Przyhocki added an assist.

Alexis Benedetto made four saves in goal to earn the shutout.

The Cougars got on the board near the midpoint of the first half after stuffing a shot at the other end.  Jordyn Martini carried down the middle and found Devyn Anderson in stride on the right flank where she slotted a ball inside the left post at 17:42.

Upon entering the game, MU's Colleen Kinsella had two solid chances late in the first half.

Off a re-start, Melissa McHugh played a ball into the box from the left wing and Kinsella's volley was deflected over the bar at 34:22.

Six minutes later, Kinsella shot from near the top of the box was deflected and resulted in a diving save by Lia Gaccione.

Misericordia added an insurance goal in the 64^th minute when Fasolino took a pass from Emma Przyhocki in the midfield and turned and blasted a shot into the upper right corner from 40 yards out.

Orfanos made it 3-0 when she collected a loose ball in the box and slotted a ball from six yards out at 84:48.

Anderson added the fourth goal less than a minute later when her shot deflected off a defender and into the net.

DeSales' best scoring chance came in the 67^th minute, but Meghan Foley's strike from 12 yards out was denied by Benedetto.

The Cougars improved to 11-5-2 while advancing to the title game for the fourth straight season.  MU will travel to Stevens, Saturday.
