The Misericordia University football team suffered its third straight defeat with a tough 20-10 loss to Albright, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.

Albright jumped out to a 20-0 lead midway through the second quarter and held off MU's comeback attempt.

Michael Gawlik scored Misericordia's lone touchdown and
Matt Dinnocenti added a 24-yard field goal.
Â
Gawlik ran for 73 yards on 10 carries and
Brady Williams added 54 yards on 11 carries.

Isaiah Williams had a team-high 69 yards receiving on seven catches.

Tavion Rogers had 10 tackles and
Nick Yeager added nine stops.

The Cougars forced a punt on the opening possession and took over on their own 44-yard line after the kick hit an Albright lineman.

Misericordia moved into Albright territory, but the drive stalled at the Lions 40.

Albright went on an 80-yard scoring drive to take a 6-0 lead with 3:00 left in the first quarter.

Eric Jeffries returned the ensuing kickoff nine yards to the MU 44-yard line and Williams picked up 10 yards on a quarterback draw on first down.

Isaiah Williams caught a short pass near the right sideline and sidestepped a defender for a 19-yard gain to the Albright 27-yard line.

After a completion for no gain, the Cougars had three straight incomplete passes and turned the ball over on downs.

Albright marched 73 yards for a scored and made the two-point conversion to take a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter.

Yeager returned the ensuing kick-off 28 yards and two penalties on the Lions moved the ball into Albright territory.

Williams went around right end for seven yards and picked up a first down off left tackle on the next play.

The drive stalled and Albright followed with a 69-yard drive to a take a 20-0 lead with 5:45 left in the first half.

After a short run by Gawlik, Williams hit
Dwayne Sharpe out of the backfield for eight yards and a first down at the MU 37-yard line.

Gawlik went off left for nine yards and powered up the middle for a first down near midfield.

On third-and-4, Williams hit
Isaiah Williams in the right flank for a first down at the Albright 41-yard line.

A personal foul on Albright moved the ball to the 29-yard line and Gawlik broke free around the right end for a touchdown with 1:39 to go in the first half.
The Cougars opened the second half with another impressive scoring drive.

B. Williams connected with I. Williams on the left sideline where he spun out of a tackle for a 15-yard gain to the MU 42-yard line.

Gawlik broke multiple tackles for a 12-yad pick-up across midfield and Williams found Gillison along the right sideline for 17 yards to the 29-yard line.

Gawlik picked up 15 yards on two carries and an Albright penalty eventually set-up first-and-goal at the five-yard line.

The Cougars settled for a 24-yard field goal after consuming nearly 7:00 minutes off the clock.

Albright moved deep into MU territory, but Jake Nagle's sack gave the Cougars the ball with 3:21 remaining.

Facing fourth-and-10, Williams scrambled to his left for 15 yards to the 40-yard line.

Receptions by Gillison and I. Williams moved the ball to the Albright 27, but the drive stalled when a fourth-down pass into the end zone was batted down.
