The Misericordia University men's volleyball team had its six-game win streak snapped with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-22) loss at Hunter, Wednesday.
Matt Lavin led the Cougars with nine kills and two blocks and
Ryan Miller and
Brian Ross both added six kills.
Jordan Spidle had 28 assists and two aces
Conner Westerfield had a team-high 10 digs.
Hunter scored five straight points to take a 10-5 lead in the opening set and then closed with a 4-1 run to win, 25-14.
MU fell behind early in the second set, but used a 7-2 run to pull even, 9-9.
Hunter built a 24-17 lead and held off an MU rally to win 24-20.
The teams traded points throughout the third set and a block by Lavin tied it 16-16.
A kill by
Billy Murphy got the Cougars with 22-20, but Hunter scored three of the final five points.
The Cougars are 6-3 and will play a tri-match with Kean at Elizabethtown, Saturday.
