Miranda Bohn threw a one-hitter and the Misericordia University softball team hit five home runs in a pair of shutout wins over FDU-Florham, Sunday at Anderson Field.

The Cougars hit four homers to back the three-hit pitching of
Brooke Moyle in an 8-0 five-inning victory in the opener.

In the nightcap, Bohn struck out three and the Cougars scored nine runs in the second inning to win 12-0 in five innings.

Ciara DeLong hit a first-pitch solo homer to lead off the bottom of the first and had three hits in the opener.Â

Brooke Moyle and
Amanda Butera both had two hits.
Â
Moyle,
Taylor Baloga and
Brianna Holder all homered.
Â
Jess McDonough had three hits in the nightcap, including a homer, and Pflueger had two hits.
Â
DeLong's lead-off homer gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead in the opener and Moyle's blast to the same spot leading off the second made it 2-0.

Baloga's blast down the left field line to start the fourth inning gave the Cougars a 4-0 lead. After McDonough doubled down the left field line, Holder homered to straight away center to make it 6-0.

Megan Murphy drew a pinch-hit walk to lead off the fifth and pinch-hitter Jess Oltman walked with one out.

DeLong doubled to right field to drive in a run and Butera singled to the fence in left to end the game.

In game two, after Butera made a nice back-handed play in the hole to end the top of the second, the Cougars batted around and scored nine runs in the bottom of the frame.

Pflueger singled down the left field line and went to third on Bohn's opposite-field double on a 3-0 pitch. Following a fielder's choice to load the bases, Moyle looped a soft liner on full count to right field to drive in two runs.

McDonough, DeLong and Butera all had run-scoring hits and Pflueger had a two-run single in her second at bat of the inning.Â
Antonia Pacillo added an RBI-double down the left field line to cap the rally.

McDonough led off the third with a solo homer to left and Oltman singled up the middle with two outs to drive in two runs.

The Cougars improved to 17-7 overall and 6-0 in the MAC Freedom.
