The Misericordia University field hockey team defeated Oneonta, 2-0, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Kyleigh Knell had a goal and an assist and
Madisyn Granoski added a goal for the Cougars.

Katelyn Campbell made four saves in goal to earn the shutout.

Knell put the Cougars up 1-0 after ripping a penalty stroke upper 90 with less than a minute to go in the second quarter.

Knell took the ball up the right sideline and dished to Granoski, who found the inside of the left post with two minutes remaining in the game.

Anna Effinger nearly added another in the third quarter following a Misericordia corner, but her shot was saved near the left post.

Tori Carsley had a good look for MU after taking the ball up the sideline one on one with a Red Dragon defender, but she couldn't sneak it by the Cortland goalkeeper.

Misericordia will host Haverford, Saturday at 1 p.m.​
