The Misericordia University women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, 1-0, to Farmingdale State, Sunday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
The Cougars held a convincing edge in shots, 18-3, including a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net.
Farmingdale netted the game's lone goal in the 63
rd minute.
Devyn Anderson nearly got the Cougars on the board when her header off a cross from
Jordyn Martini caromed off the post in the 12
th minute.
Martini's shot in the 39
th minute was just right of the right post and
Zoee Farr's header off a corner by Martini was cleared off the line by a Farmingdale defender in the 40
th minute.
Kendall Pearage followed with a shot that sailed just high less than a minute later.
Down 1-0,
Michaela Fasolino's blast from close range was denied in the 71
st minute.
Pearage gave MU one last hope with a good look from 15 yards out in the 88
th minute, but the Rams' keeper made the stop.
Misericordia, 3-1, will host Lebanon Valley, Wednesday.
