The Misericordia University women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, 1-0, to Farmingdale State, Sunday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Cougars held a convincing edge in shots, 18-3, including a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Farmingdale netted the game's lone goal in the 63^rd minute.

Devyn Anderson nearly got the Cougars on the board when her header off a cross from Jordyn Martini caromed off the post in the 12^th minute.

Martini's shot in the 39^th minute was just right of the right post and Zoee Farr's header off a corner by Martini was cleared off the line by a Farmingdale defender in the 40^th minute.

Kendall Pearage followed with a shot that sailed just high less than a minute later.

Down 1-0, Michaela Fasolino's blast from close range was denied in the 71^st minute.

Pearage gave MU one last hope with a good look from 15 yards out in the 88^th minute, but the Rams' keeper made the stop.

Misericordia, 3-1, will host Lebanon Valley, Wednesday.
