Misericordia University Intramural COVID-19 Protocols

(Indoor group intramural activity is currently prohibited)
General Rules - Students participating in any IM event should consider checking their temperature within 30 minutes of arriving to
any event. If body temperature is
100.0 or higher or you are not feeling well, do NOT attend the event.Proceed with university COVID-19 protocols.
- Medicat Daily Symptom Tracker result must be displayed to IM staff prior to event.
- No intramural events will be held prior to August 31, 2020
- If a participant or staff member feels ill or has a temperature at or above 100.0 while at an event, the individual(s) will be immediately removed from the event.COVID protocols will activate.
- Participants will provide their own water/hydration bottle for all events.
- Per university protocol, masks will be worn during events. There may be exceptions based on CDC and/or PA Department of Health guidelines.
- Utilize the proper PPE to maintain a safe athletic environment.
- Sanitize areas prior to use and immediately following events.
- Frequent hand washing and sanitizing is strongly recommended.
- There will be no hand shaking/contact/fist bumps etc. before or following IM events.

Intramural equipment will be made available for students to utilize recreationally. Items will be located at the main security desk in the Anderson Center and can be obtained by leaving your university ID at the Anderson Center security desk.  Upon return of the borrowed equipment, the student's ID will be returned.

Specific event protocols:
Â
Soccer tennis - 2v2 soccer tennis. Use frequent hand sanitizer from touching ball; remain socially distanced with teammate. (i.e. left and right or front and back) Ball will be wiped and sanitized after each event

Cornhole - (singles and doubles)- Remain six feet apart during entire event. Use hand sanitizer between rounds. Masks must be worn.

Disc golf - Groups will be limited to no larger than four people to allow for social distancing throughout the entire round. No sharing of discs.

Can jam- same rules as cornhole

Three point and free throw competition - Ball will be sanitized between each player's round. Participants will sanitize hands between each round. Social distancing will be kept throughout the entire event.

1 mile run - Event will be held at a location to allow for social distancing at the start and throughout the entire runÂ

Soccer golf - Course will be designed to allow for proper social distancing. No more than four players per group, playing at one time. Masks must be worn. Players must use their own ball the entire time, no sharing.

Golf - Conducted at
Lehman golf course. Students will be able to play on
weekdays when the course opens in the morning through 4:30pm. Reservations are to be made with the intramural office and Coach Stauffer. There is no fee to students. Greens fees will be paid through Misericordia University intramurals. Social distancing protocols will be in place. No sharing of clubs.Â
If students wish to rent a pull cart, a $1 fee will be paid by the student. Students must wear a mask in the presence of the club house.
No athletic shorts may be worn on course and no tank tops or sleeveless t-shirts allowed. Skirts, skorts, or button shorts are necessary as per course rules.

Tennis - Singles. Use hand sanitizer frequently since using the same ball. No mask necessary while playing.

Tennis - Doubles. Partner can only be someone from your "family group". Stay on left/right sides or front/back sides when playing to ensure distancing whenever possible.

Badminton- To be played outdoors. Singles and doubles - masks must be worn.
Â
Buka Ball- To be played outdoors. Singles and doubles - masks must be worn. Doubles partners must be from the same "family group".

E-sports events - Esport tournament(s) will be conducted in which students register for the game tournament be offered. Brackets will be constructed. Students will contact one another to schedule play. The winner will report result to IM office for advancement during the tournament.

Track and field/agility events-Â Events will be socially distanced and conducted as individual events. (No teams or groups).
