Jonus Gurski and Jason Winters combined for five wins, but the Misericordia University men's swim team suffered a season-opening loss to Arcadia, 148-110, Saturday in the Anderson Center.
 
Gurski won the 50 breaststroke (27.81), 200 breaststoke (2:15.66) and 200 IM (2:00.25).
 
Winters won the 500 and 1000 freestyles (5:07.91/11:15.05) while
 
Gurski's times in the 200 breaststroke and 200 IM are both the best in the MAC this season while Winters is third in the MAC in the 500 free.
 
Nathan Shappell added a personal best 23.42 while finishing third in the 50 free.
 
The Cougars will host Hood and Lycoming for a tri-meet, November 6.
