The Misericordia University women's swim team opened the season with a 161-101 win over Arcadia, Saturday in the Anderson Center.

Kate Bernauer was a triple-winner while five others won individual events for the Cougars.

Bernauer won the 100 and 200 freestyles (55.51/2:01.65) and the 200 IM (2:20.47). Her times in the 100 and 200 free are both the best in the MAC this season.

Analiese Hargreaves won the 200 fly (2:21.68) and
Jennifer Scott and
Camryn Hubric won the 50 fly (27.72) and 50 free (25.01), respectively.

Hubric's time in the 50 free is tops in the MAC while Hargreaves is second in the 200 fly.

Bella Buchman (50 back/28.76) and Maddie Grosenstein (500 free/5:46.01) were both winners in their Misericordia debuts.

Buchman,
Cassidy Preste, Bernauer and Hubric teamed to win the 200 medley relay (1:53.97) while Breanna Fluhr, Buchman, Scott and Hubric took the 200 free relay (1:44.05). Both relays are the top times in the MAC this season.

The Cougars will host a tri-match with Hood and Lycoming, November 6.
