The Misericordia field hockey season ended with 2-1 overtime loss to FDU-Florham in the second round of the ECAC Championships, Saturday. The Cougars finished with a 14-8 overall record.
After a scoreless first period,
Olivia Kempf broke through with a goal to put MU up 1-0. The goal came in the first minute of the second period after a
Morgan Walsh shot was blocked.
Walsh had a look in the first period off a penalty corner, but the keeper was able to make the stop
Mikayla Cavenas took a shot in the second period that missed wide.
Madison Posivak had an opportunity in the third period, but her shot was saved by the keeper.
Olivia Gretz made two saves in goal for MU.The Devils scored the tying goal with less than two minutes remaining in regulation and notched the game-winner 3:45 into OT.
Both teams took five shots while MU held an 8-2 advantage in corners.
