Misericordia University women's soccer team will host Stevens in the MAC Freedom championship game, Saturday at 1:00 at
Mangelsdorf Field.
The Cougars are third in the d3soccer.com poll and fourth in the United Soccer Coaches rankings and advanced to the title match with a 5-0 win over Wilkes.
MU, 17-1, is the top seed in the MAC Freedom after finishing the regular season at 16-1 overall and 8-0 in league play.
Misericordia defeated Stevens, 2-1, in the regular season on
Madison Brdaric's game-winner with 1:07 left in regulation.
MU's attack features three of the top-eight scorers in the MAC Freedom. Emma
Sweitzer (17g, 12a) leads the league in points and goals and is second in assists and has the third-highest single-season points total (46) in school history.
Kaylee Sturans (15g, 6a) is fourth in points, third in goals and eighth in assists while Michaela
Fasolino (11g, 4a) is eighth in points and goals.
Kate Field (6g, 6a) and
Julia Beck (5g, 5a) ad 18 and 15 points, respectively, while Madison
Brdaric (3g, 6a) and
Ally Waite (5g, 2a) both add 12 points.
MU keeper Alexis
Benedetto tops the MAC Freedom with a .37 GAA and a 90.3 save percentage and eight shutouts.
The Cougars are making their fifth straight appearance in the MAC Freedom championship match.
