The Misericordia University men's volleyball team ended the season with a sweep of Eastern in the MAC Championships Consolation bracket, Saturday on Doc Mould Court.
The Cougars won 25-12, 25-13, 25-21 to win their fifth straight match and improve to 9-9.
Billy Murphy led the Cougars with 12 kills while
Brian Ross had nine kills and four blocks.
Matt Lavin added eight kills, five blocks and two aces and
Caleb Bauder had three aces.
Dylan Sellitti had 26 assists and
Matt Churchill had eight digs.
Up 9-8 in the opening set, the Cougars went on an 11-2 run to take a 20-10 lead. Murphy and Ross had kills to combine with six Eastern errors during the spurt.
Ross and Murphy had kills to close out the set.
Bauder had two kills and an ace as the Cougars grabbed an 11-1 lead in the second set.
Murphy had kills to account for MU's final three points in the 25-13 win.
Lavin's kill and an ace by Bauder broke a 19-19 tie in the finale.
The Cougars closed the match with a 3-0 with a Lavin ace clinching the victory.
