The Misericordia University softball season came to an end with a 6-1 loss to Stevens in the MAC Freedom championship game, Saturday.
The Cougars were hurt by the big inning for the second straight day as the Ducks scored five times in the top of the sixth inning.
Nicole Elliott and Alexa McHugh had two hits each and Amanda Butera drove in MU's lone run.
Misericordia a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Zariah Alvin drew a lead-off walk and moved to second on a ground out. Elliott singled through the right side to put runners on the corners. With two outs, Butera singled through the right side to put the Cougars ahead.
Stevens tied it on a sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth and took control with a five-run rally in the top of the sixth.
Misericordia finished 24-6.
