The Misericordia University field hockey team dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to Scranton, Friday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
Lily Metress scored for MU while
Mikayla Cavenas added an assist.
Katie Redding scored the game-winner and Marissa Campbell added a goal for Scranton.
Olivia Gretz made six saves for the Cougars.
Metress gave the Cougars 1-0 lead early in the second quarter with an assist from Cavenas. Cavenas ma maneuvered along the end line and centered a pass to Metress, who was able to find the back of the cage for the first goal scored against Scranton this season.Â
Anna Effinger's shot just outside the goal at the end of the third quarter was blocked by a defender.
Madison Posivak nearly scored the go-ahead goal on a fast break late in the fourth quarter, but her shot was saved.
