The Misericordia University men's volleyball team split a MAC tri-match with King's and Stevenson, Sunday afternoon on Doc Mould Court.
The Cougars cruised to a 3-0 win over King's before dropping a hard-fought 3-0 decision to #14 Stevenson.
Anthony DePalma had a team-high 15 kills in the opener and
Billy Murphy added 11 kills, three aces and three blocks.
Kyle Ganoe had nine kills and
Dylan Sellitti had 33 assists and four aces.
Conner Westerfield had seven digs and
Alex Furlong had three aces.
Connor Cusick had four kills and a block after celebrating Senior Appreciation Day prior to the match.
Murphy had three kills and Ganoe had two aces as part of a 9-0 run to give the Cougars a 14-3 lead over King's in the first set.
Back-to-back aces by Furlong stretched the lead to 23-10 and the Cougars won 25-15.
Ganoe's kill broke a 12-12 tie in the second set and Murphy added two aces and a kill in a 4-0 spurt to give MU a 20-14 lead.
Sellitti added an ace as the Cougars closed the set on a 4-1 run to win 25-18.
In a back-and-forth finale, DePalma had a kill and Sellitti followed with back-to-back aces to put MU up, 21-17.
Ganoe and Murphy had kills to close out the win, 25-22.
Ganoe had 10 kills against Stevenson and Murphy added nine.
Sellitti had 28 assists and two blocks.
MU rallied from a 5-2 deficit to score four straight points in the opener against Stevenson. Murphy's smash down the left side and a Mustangs error gave the Cougars a 6-5 lead.
Ganoe had a kill inside the right pin to make it 12-11 and followed up with a cross court kill into the left corner to give MU a 13-12 lead.
DePalma's kill inside the back line put MU up, 19-18, and fueled a 3-0 spurt.
The Mustangs rallied and eventually took the set, 29-27.
After Stevenson scored six straight points to take a 16-13 lead in the second set, MU went on a 6-2 run to pull even, 19-19.
The Mustangs answered with a 6-2 spurt to win, 25-21.
MU rallied from a 7-2 deficit in the finale to get within 17-14.
The Cougars took advantage of three Stevenson errors to get within 24-21 before Stevenson closed out the match.
