The Misericordia University men's volleyball team split a tri-match with Messiah at Eastern, Saturday.
The Cougars dropped the opener to Messiah, 3-0, but kept their postseason hopes alive with a 3-2 win over Eastern.
Anthony DePalma had a team-high 19 kills against Eastern and
Billy Murphy had 12 kills.
Austin Cervasio had 11 kills, five blocks and two aces.
Dylan Sellitti had 57 assist and four aces and Zane martin had a team-high six blocks.
DePalma added 10 kills and two aces against Messiah.
Messiah won 25-20, 25-20, 25-14.
A pair of service errors gave MU a 19-18 lead in the first set, but the Falcons closed on a 7-1 run.
A 4-0 run and a kill by DePalma got MU with 18-15 in the second set, but they couldn't get any closer.
After back-to-back aces by DePalma pulled the Cougars within 18-13 in the finale, Messiah again ended on a 7-1 spurt to clinch the match.
The Cougars took the nightcap 25-14, 22-25, 25-22, 27-29, 15-13.
Tied 13-13 in the finale, Ganoe put MU in front with a kill and Murphy and Martin wrapped up the win with a block.
The Cougars will host Arcadia in a key MAC match, Wednesday at 7:00.
