The Misericordia University softball team used a potent offense to sweep a doubleheader at Albright, 14-10, 16-3, Saturday.
Emma Griffin,
Kaitlin Redling and
Brianna Burd all had two hits and two RBI in the opener while
Alexa McHugh,
Marisa Kelly and
Antonia Pacillo added two hits each.
Redling had a two-run homer and the Cougars had six doubles as part of their 20-hit attack.
Griffin and
Miranda Bohn both had two-run doubles as part of MU's nine-run fourth inning.
Sophia DeFebo scattered six hits over four innings to earn the win and
Erin McGee worked the final three innings.
Nicole Elliott had four hits in the nightcap and Bohn and Burd drove in four runs. Pacillo had two hits and three RBI, including a two-run homer as part of MU's seven-run fifth inning.
Emily Wenner allowed just two hits over three innings to earn the win.
The Cougars will visit Lycoming in their MAC Freedom opener, Wednesday.
